2008 GP2 Main drivers annouced!
Super Nova Racing Limited would like to announce that Alvaro Parente and Christian Bakkerud will be racing with the team this season in the GP2 Main Series.<br><br>Team principal David Sears commented “We are really happy that Christian Bakkerud decided to sign with us for both the Asia and Main Series. This should give us a good opportunity to develop his skills after a year of learning last season. We believe he is capable of a lot better results than previously shown.<br><br>Alvaro Parente has been a driver we have watched for the past few seasons after winning the British Formula 3. The Renault Series proved that he is indeed capable of running at the front in international racing; one of the reasons why Polaris Sports, who represent athletes worldwide, are backing him. <br><br>In fact the pair have already been team mates in the British Formula 3 Championship. The entire team are all motivated to get started with the coming season with the new car.”<br><br>Christian Bakkerud said having confirmed both GP2 Asia and Main seats “Obviously I’m very pleased to have signed with one of the best teams in the series. We seemed to have worked really well in testing. Dubai could have gone better, but we’re positive about the future. Alvaro and I were team mates in British F3 and worked well together, so I’m sure we can all develop together and get some good results.”<br><br>The Portuguese driver Alvaro Parente said of the deal “I’m very, very happy to have signed with the Super Nova team. They have a great history and have been a top team from the start of GP2. It is a great chance for me and I am focused and concentrating on doing the best job I can. I am looking forward to getting started with testing.” <br><br><br>
