Qualifying & Race times

GP2 Series Two day testing session at the Paul Ricard Circuit – Southern France.

After a tough couple of races with various dramas the Super Nova team and their drivers have been working extremely hard to get back on form. Two days of very productive testing at Paul Ricard saw Jose Maria Lopez finish quickest overall driver out of the 26 GP2 cars testing, comfortably setting the pace on new and used tyres.
Jose felt most of recent problems have now been resolved, and is looking forward to the coming race in Magny Cours.

Fairuz Fauzy was running for most of the sessions in the top eight, but on the second day the team chose to give the Malaysian driver two sets of tyres in the morning session, aiming for a good qualifying time. However most other teams used the second set in the later part of the day, resulting in Fairuz getting bumped down in postioning to P14.

The team achieved what they were hoping for in qualifying and used the practise time well, coming home happy. The entire team are now looking forward to the next race in Magny Cours, located in the middle of France. The occasion will celebrate the French creating Grand Prix racing 100 years ago, back when they were typically won by Renault, which is a similar pattern to today results!
