Super Nova starts the season as they mean to go on!

Having qualified front row, the team’s Portuguese driver stormed away at the start of the opening GP2 feature race in Barcelona last Saturday to claim a well deserved maiden win, 11 points, & the championship lead!

After a slow start from pole sitter Pastor Maldonado, Parente withstood an early attack from Zuber to control the 39 lap race all the way to the chequered flag. Meanwhile team mate Christian Bakkerud, unfortunately got caught in congestion at turn one, resulting in a safety car, and ending the young Danish drivers hopes for the weekend.

Suffering from a back injury Bakkerud was regrettably advised not to take part in the Sunday sprint race, leaving him to watch from the side lines.

Sunday’s grid established by Saturday’s top eight positions reversed, meant Alvaro fought from eighth, displaying determination to gain a position to round off the weekend with a top seven finish.
